In a matter of minutes our 4x4 was engulfed in a blanket of sand. Mustafa drove along as if nothing was the matter. Soon our vision was close to none as we slowed to a crawl along the highway. We drive through a town and saw pedestrians caught in the storm duck for shelter.

It was close to dusk as we neared some rolling mountains. The sandstorm was dying out but reflected a beautiful warm light across the mountainside. This was my first glimpse of the deserts awesome power.
