The new look of Kevin Su Photography

So after my recent spasm of creativity I decided to update my business card.

I teamed up with Diana Seto an upcoming graphic artist prodigy to create a card that was artsy, slick and minimal. My goal was to create enough intrigue to capture attention to view my website as well as display my technical ability all in one card. The design has a minimal back leading the eye to the website. The front is anchored by the missing piece on the right edge which forces the viewer to flip the card over. here are the layouts and please contact me for your very own copy.

the edges are white on this white background.. so you are going to have to use your imagination

Shooting in Vancouver

It has been a very productive 3 days in Vancouver. I have been scouting locations all over the new developments along false creek. I have had two successful shoots so far and working on 2 more before the end of the week. I am also looking forward to shooting the BMO marathon coming up on Sunday. Its very refreshing to get back to shooting urban locations and playing with wireless strobes.

Anyways here are some more shots from the shoot last night.

Powder Mountain Catskiing video for Lowepro

This is a video clip made by Mike Crane Photography of us working at Powder Mountain Catskiing using LowePro bags. This video shows what I do during the winter shooting with a catskiing operation. It was fun modeling and shooting for Mike on a day where we received all sorts of weather and lighting in fun deep powder! he even caught some footage of me making some nice deep turns. I also posted the shots taken during one of the sequences you see in the video. enjoy!

The last salmon run

With the ski season winding down i'm finding more time to get back to art. Today I was inspired by some of my local nature images I had taken earlier in the year. I spent the afternoon working on this conceptual piece called "the last salmon run".

The Squamish river every fall attracts many eagles to feed on the salmon returning to the ocean. In recent years the eagle count has been decreasing due to poor salmon farming and river management. Improper salmon farming has caused lice which are reducing the number of fish in our rivers. Salmon is the major food source for eagles as they hunt them down the river. The trending decrease in the number of eagles in recent years is in direct correlation with the increasing salmon farming industry.

I hope you enjoy this little thought and let me know what you think of the piece.

April snow

I spent my morning on the computer working on my new uploads to ALAMY with a warm fresh brewed coffee and some new indie music playing. My concentration was interrupted several times by the flash blizzard manifesting out my window. This unusual valley snow in April looked amazing with the dark ominous overcast light. I could resist no longer and I grabbed the trusty 70-200 2.8 and got the creative juices flowing. A good session in lightroom is always better than uploading and keywording. enjoy this little morning fun:
