New inspirations

In the recent weeks I have been searching for artistic collaborations and job opportunities in Vancouver. There was one particular interview I was involved with last weekend that pushed my creativity in a fresh new way.

It was an interview for a position with a group called "Monkey Paradox Productions" who run a monthly performance art event called Miko Kuro's Midnight Tea.  more info at www.mikokuro.com .

A segment of the interview process involved an impromptu photoshoot in a studio with a model and props. I was put on the spot with not much preparation and equipment. Luckily I had a sb800 speedlight on me. I slaved it using commander mode on my D300 and got creative. I was going for a techno grunge mood so i mashed some of the images with some grunge textures from my personal texture collection.

Vancouver Sun Run

It seems like i am spending more time every week in Vancouver with my big move just on the horizon. New inspirations are manifesting themselves and I am inspired again to shoot like a madman.

I had the opportunity this morning to shoot the 25th annual Vancouver Sun Run.  Several tens of thousands of people ran, walked, wheeled and jogged 10 kilometers through the Vancouver downtown area. The energy in the city was infectiously positive and shooting the race was a blast. I utilized my ninja skills and was able to infiltrate the starting line fence and posed as another media photographer. Who needs a media pass when you got stealth ninja skills? here are some photos: enjoy!

whistler days winding down

In the past 3 years I have been living and shooting out of the mountains in Whistler, BC . Mountain culture has led me to countless adventures and experiences. The love for nature, action and tranquillity kept me me in Whistler to explore all this time. Although there is so much more to explore in this vast landscape, the time has come to wind down my stay and move back to the city to pursue my dreams as a professional photographer.

I am moving back to Vancouver next month to kick off Kevin Su Photography andwww.kevinsu.com . Requests and leads are already pouring in making my summer very exciting.  I know i will return to Whistler when adventure calls but for now I will leave you with my memorable images from my 3 years of fun filled adventure! enjoy!
